The Royal Palm Golf & Country Club spreads along the banks of Ghord’s Wadi, resembling an oasis within the spacious grounds of Domaine Royal Palm. Ideally located south of Marrakech, 12 kilometers from the old city’s ramparts, the stunning golf course is the perfect complement to the Royal Palm Hotel, Country Club and 89 luxury villas. Dotted with aged-old olive trees at the foot of the snow-capped Atlas Mountains, it counts among the most beautiful golf courses in Marrakech.
A graduate in landscape architecture from Berkeley and Harvard’s Graduate School of Design, Cabell B. Robinson began his career at Trent Jones, a renowned American agency. He worked on several projects including the 36-hole course at Cerromar (Puerto Rico), the northern course at the Oakland Hills Club (Michigan) and the Crag Burn course in Buffalo (New York). In 1970, he became General Manager of Trent Jones’ architectural and construction firms in Europe. Building on his experience, Cabell Robinson founded his own company in 1987. His first projects led him to Spain and the south of France, followed by 23 additional assignments throughout Europe. It is however in Morocco that he sealed his reputation. With his course designs for the Royal Golf El Jadida and the Amelkis club, he demonstrated that he perfectly assimilated the challenges of the Moroccan soil. His expertise, unique understanding of the local culture and commitment towards environmental protection made him the ideal person to entrust with the creation of the Royal Palm Golf Club, one of the finest golf courses in Marrakech. Today, Robinson designates the top 100 courses worldwide on behalf of GOLF MAGAZINE. He is also the sole independent member of the American Society of Golf Course Architects in Europe.
